Job summary

The City of Buda, TX is hiring for a Wastewater Utility Technician. Starting pay depends on qualifications, experience, and licenses, with placement in the Technician progression (I–IV) and starting pay based on credentials.

Starting Pay Range: $23.41–$29.13 per hour. Emphasis on maintaining wastewater mains, service lines, and lift stations, with responsibility for safety and environmental protection and on-call support for emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Texas driver’s license within 90 days of employment.
• Encouraged to obtain approved certifications to support Public Works operations.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and operate the wastewater collection system.
• Locate, investigate, and repair system failures, blockages, and leaks.
• Perform preventive maintenance on infrastructure and equipment.
• Operate and transport heavy equipment and specialized wastewater gear.
• Respond to emergency service requests and on-call rotations.
