THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in duties associated with the maintenance and operation of the wastewater treatment plant at Ricketts Glen State Park. Here you will learn basic competencies and skills, preparing you to become a certified wastewater treatment plant operator.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch
  • Days/shifts will vary, will work 5 days, 37.5 hrs. per week to include holidays and weekends when needed.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months of building maintenance or trades experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • All employees must obtain, within the probationary period, a valid Operator’s Certificate, or an Operator in Training Designation issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or greater than the classification and subclassification of the wastewater system to be operated or maintained. PA DEP Wastewater Operator class B1 and E4 certifications.
  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
