Job Summary

This position assists in operating the wastewater treatment plant, working assigned shifts, learning plant operations, monitoring equipment, and maintaining safety and records.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform process control activities, collect and analyze samples, monitor biological and chemical parameters.
• Monitor SCADA systems for plant conditions and maintain operational data.
• Inspect equipment, perform minor maintenance, adjust flows and chemical feeds, operate various plant equipment.
• Maintain logs, participate in training, and obtain a Grade I Wastewater Operator license.
• Perform administrative and housekeeping duties.
• Communicate effectively and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of related work experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Level II Wastewater Operator Certification (or obtain within 18 months).
• Desirable: Grade I Wastewater Operator license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of basic IT and wastewater treatment.
• Good communication skills, ability to read and write technical documents, and handle measurements and data.

Physical Demands

Medium work requiring lifting, manual dexterity, and visual and auditory acuity.

Work Environment

Work involves decision-making with community impact, shift work, including weekends and holidays.
