Job description

**Job Description**

We are seeking a dedicated and certified Wastewater Treatment Operator to oversee the operation and maintenance of our resort's wastewater and potable water systems during the summer season. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) standards and maintaining the health and safety of our guests and staff.

**Job Responsibilities**

  1. Operate and maintain two (2) wastewater treatment plants and two (2) wastewater collection systems.
  2. Hold a minimum qualification of Level 1 Wastewater Operator license (Alaska) and a Provisional license (Alaska) in Wastewater Collection.
  3. Continue education to stay qualified and licensed.
  4. Be self-motivated.
  5. Inspect and clean manholes, sewers, and lift stations periodically.
  6. Maintain and repair pumps and pumping systems.
  7. Possess a good understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
  8. Handle plumbing issues successfully.
  9. Establish and follow daily and monthly maintenance routines.
  10. Order parts as needed and plan ahead.
  11. Collaborate with contractors, approved vendors, and government agencies.
  12. Collect and send monthly water and wastewater samples for testing.
  13. Maintain and file all relevant reports and compliance records with ADEC.
  14. Upload reports to the federal database using CDX system and NetDMR portal.
  15. Safely handle chemical mixing as needed.
  16. Maintain physical stamina for bending, lifting, climbing, carrying, crawling, and cleaning in a noisy and dirty environment.
