American Bottoms Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, located in Sauget, Illinois, is seeking an experienced Plant Operator. The facility provides services to Sauget, East St. Louis, Cahokia, and surrounding communities. It was awarded "Plant of The Year" by the Illinois Association of Water Pollution Control Operators in 2014 and has been recognized as one of the best companies to work for in Illinois for seven consecutive years.
Responsibilities include monitoring gauges, meters, and control panels; maintaining logs and reports; operating valves, gates, pumps, switchgears, and generators; collecting samples; operating computerized control systems; operating de-watering equipment; performing preventative maintenance; and cleaning.
Work involves rotating shifts to provide 24-hour coverage, 365 days a year.
Preference will be given to candidates with training in wastewater treatment plants, especially those emphasizing advanced biological treatment. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, be high school or trade school graduates or equivalent, and proficient in basic computer skills. No relocation or sponsorship is provided.
