Job summary

HDR seeks a WTEM Business Class Director to lead and coordinate wastewater treatment and effluent management programs. You will drive technical excellence, mentor leaders, and manage staff across diverse offices while engaging with clients and industry partners.

Provide strategic direction, oversee risk management, and contribute to business growth through technical differentiation and proposal support. Travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect is required for leadership roles overseeing technical design.
• Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other business class directors and leaders.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build relationships with related business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead technical risk management through process and resource reviews and advisory services.
• Drive QA/QC processes and coordinate with the Quality Manager.
• Oversee development and application of technical tools, standards, and techniques.
• Oversee staffing and worksharing across projects and offices.
• Develop strategic plans with market sector directors and leadership at multiple levels.
• Lead applied research and engage with universities to advance capabilities.
• Mentor technical leaders and support client development and project pursuits.
