Job summary

MI Metals, Inc. is seeking a Wastewater Technician to ensure Paint Line wastewater operations meet environmental standards and support maintenance activities.

The role focuses on balancing wastewater, monitoring pH, and maintaining records to stay compliant with city and state regulations. Based in Nashville, TN, the technician will work 1st shift (5am–1pm) Monday–Friday, handling sample collection, filter maintenance, hazardous material coordination, and cross-training across production areas

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of wastewater systems, environmental compliance, or chemical processes.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties (standing, walking, bending, reaching).
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Balance and maintain wastewater levels and pH based on Paint and Die Shop waste.
• Ensure compliance with city/state regulations for discharged wastewater and keep records of quality/quantity.
• Maintain inventory and replace wastewater treatment filters as needed.
• Collect water samples and complete required testing for city wastewater requirements.
• Maintain hazardous material inventory and coordinate shipments per regulations.
• Support maintenance activities related to the Paint Line and wastewater systems.
• Keep a clean, organized work area and follow safety standards; wear PPE.
• Participate in cross-training to support multiple production areas and enhance skills.
• Off-load waste using a forklift and ensure timely shipments to landfill.
• Maintain accurate waste records for timely disposal.
