Job summary

gpac is partnering with a well-established food manufacturing company to hire a Wastewater Technician for the first-shift team. You will monitor and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, perform preventive maintenance, conduct chemical testing, and ensure safe, compliant operations.

Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, able to work independently, and comfortable around industrial equipment in wet environments.

Qualifications

Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment.
Ability to work independently and solve problems.
Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Experience around industrial equipment in wet or variable environments.
Overtime availability, including occasional Saturdays.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on pumps and equipment.
Conduct chemical testing, drawdowns, and jar tests to maintain proper treatment levels.
Monitor pH levels, calibrate probes, and document readings.
Inspect pumps, water flow, and chemical delivery systems; adjust as needed.
Monitor wastewater system performance and water pit levels.
Maintain chemical inventory and coordinate reordering.
Complete operational logs and documentation.
Follow all food safety, environmental, and workplace safety procedures.
Assist with other wastewater operations and maintenance tasks.
