Job summary

Pima County is seeking a Wastewater Technical Services Manager in Tucson to serve as the technical lead for the flow monitoring group. You will work with engineers, planners, and field staff to obtain data for planning and capacity decisions.

The role requires strong project management and supervisory experience in wastewater, with responsibilities including policy development, reporting, and budget oversight. A DOE STEM degree and related certifications enhance candidacy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM or closely-related field plus four years of related experience.
ADEQ Grade 4 Wastewater or Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification may substitute for the degree.
Four years with Pima County in related wastewater roles including supervisory experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and manages activities of professional and technical personnel in wastewater operations.
Coordinates evaluations and reviews with city/county departments and external agencies.
Analyzes treatment processes for compliance and efficiency; develops process control policies.
Prepares reports and proposals for new projects and budgets; monitors expenditures.
Trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned personnel; may provide expert testimony.
