Job summary

George's Inc. is seeking a Wastewater Technician – Licensed to perform morning and evening operational checks, including flow, chemical feed, and residual chlorine.

You will learn and apply standard operating procedures to conduct process control lab testing in compliance with State and local requirements. The role includes inventory and handling of chemicals, facility oversight, minor mechanical maintenance, sample collection, and supporting a safe, clean workplace.

Qualifications

• High School diploma
• Hold a current Grade 2 state wastewater license or actively pursuing the license.
• Alternating weekend, on-call and holiday work is required for preventative maintenance on the facility and equipment.

• Perform morning and evening operational checks for flow, chemical feed, residual chlorine, and other checks as required.
• Learn and utilize standard operating procedures to perform process control lab testing for applicable State and local requirements.

• Operate belt filter press and company equipment.
• Perform minor mechanical maintenance including preventative maintenance.
• Perform sample collection and laboratory testing to operate the plant.
• Assist other operation personnel in keeping a clean and safe workplace, including the building and basin.
• Control sludge wasting and removal from facility.

SUMMARY

The Wastewater Technician – Licensed performs morning and evening operational checks for flow, chemical feed, residual chlorine, and other checks as required. The Wastewater Technician will learn and utilize the standard operating procedures to perform process control lab testing for applicable State and local requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Inventory, mix, fill and maintain chemicals and flow readings.
• Facility oversight and make process adjustments.
• Operate belt filter press.
• Perform minor mechanical maintenance to include preventative maintenance.
• Perform sample collection, laboratory testing, and analysis required to operate the plant.
• Assist other operation personnel in keeping a clean and safe workplace, including the building and basin.
• Control of sludge wasting and removal from facility.
• Operate company truck, loader and other company equipment.
  Observe and assist other wastewater technicians performing various tasks to gain knowledge and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Required
• High School diploma
• Hold a current Grade 2 state wastewater license or actively pursuing the license.
• Alternating weekend, on-call and holiday work is required for preventative maintenance on the facility and equipment.
