Qualifications

• Education: Equivalent to a High School Diploma.
• Operator-In-Training requires two years of responsible experience in construction or public works and a Grade I certification within 12 months of appointment.
• Operator I requires 1 year of relevant experience and a Grade I or higher certification.
• Operator II requires 2 years of progressively responsible experience and a Grade II or higher certification.
• Operator III requires 3 years of progressively responsible experience and a Grade III or higher certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operation of wastewater treatment pumps, motors and equipment.
• Read gauges and records to determine processing requirements; adjust as needed.
• Collect samples for laboratory analysis and perform basic tests.
• Maintain logs and records of plant operations and maintenance.
• Perform inspections and basic maintenance of pumps, valves, and electrical components.
• Assist with planning, coordination and scheduling of plant operations.
• Maintain and prepare parts and supplies records and recommend needs.
