Job summary

Jacobs is based in Hoboken, New Jersey, and is seeking an Operator-in-Training to join a collaborative team in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant. You will perform maintenance of equipment, quality control testing, and data entry into a maintenance management system, contributing to safe and efficient municipal services.

The role requires basic plant operation experience, a valid driver's license, and a plan to obtain NJDEP S1 wastewater certification within 24 months.

Qualifications

Basic experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plants
Basic understanding of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to enter data into a maintenance management system
Valid driver's license
Candidate to obtain NJDEP S1 wastewater license within 24 months

Responsibilities

Operate wastewater treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge and effluent
Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter/gauge readings
Collect samples and maintain shift logs
Perform preventive maintenance and provide effective solutions to challenges
Ensure safety, health and well-being of the team
