The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS is seeking a Plant Operator I to support daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility. You will monitor processes, operate valves and equipment, perform routine maintenance, and help manage grounds and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include documentation, inventory checks, and clear communication with leadership. A High School diploma or GED is required, with CDL-B tanker endorsement and KDHE Class 1 certification pursued

Formación

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of wastewater facility operation experience preferred.
• CDL Class B with tanker endorsement within six months of hire.
• KDHE Class 1 Operations certification within three years.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes and flow.
• Manually or remotely operate valves, gates, and equipment.
• Operate vehicles and equipment including tanker trucks and forklifts.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping of plant equipment and grounds.
• Maintain facility grounds and landscaping as needed.
• Document maintenance activities and inspect inventory levels.
• Communicate conditions and issues to supervisors.
• Follow safety policies to protect personnel and equipment.
• Clear snow or ice from areas as necessary.
