City of Denison is seeking a semi-skilled wastewater plant and pumping facility operator. You will monitor lift stations, check tank and sludge levels, and perform daily and monthly reports to ensure compliant operations.

The job requires performing maintenance on pumps, chlorinators, blowers, and valves, handling samples, and following written guidelines with some independent judgment under supervision. It includes shift work and occasional training of new staff.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret guidelines, manuals and regulations.
• Knowledge of water or wastewater plant equipment is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Monitors lift stations and plants for proper operation.
• Checks tank levels and sludge levels.
• Produces daily and monthly wastewater operation reports.
• Collects wastewater samples for labs.
• Changes chlorine cylinders.
• Maintains pumps, chlorinators, blowers and related equipment.
• Replaces valves and lines around pump stations and plants.
• Performs tasks per written guidelines with some independent judgment.
• May train new employees; no supervising duties.
• Receives instructions; completes assignments with minimal supervision.
• Contacts are mostly with coworkers and supervisors; occasional public interaction.
