Job summary

The City of Camas is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to manage a broad range of treatment equipment and processes. You will report to the Wastewater Operations Manager and the Utilities Manager, with a schedule that shifts from training (Mon–Fri, 7am–3:30pm) to a 4-10 dayshift including weekends after training.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade with specialized training in wastewater operations or related field.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience in wastewater plant operation and pumping.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Washington State Group 1 Wastewater Operator certificate or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate a wide variety of wastewater treatment equipment and processes.
• Work under the supervision of the Wastewater Operations Manager and Utilities Manager.
• Maintain and monitor plant performance while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Adapt to a 4-10 dayshift schedule after training, including weekends and holidays.
