City of Appleton Wisconsin is seeking a Wastewater Operator to manage real-time operations of a 15.5 MGD plant. The role involves monitoring flows, adjusting treatment processes, and maintaining control systems to meet the WPDES permit requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or vocational training in wastewater technology, environmental science, or related field preferred.
• Possession or the ability to obtain WDNR Advanced Wastewater Operator certification within 48 months and maintain certificate.
• Prior wastewater treatment facility experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and related regulations.
• Ability to use tools and technology related to plant operations (e.g., SCADA).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust the wastewater flow and treatment processes.
• Keep records, logs, and charts.
• Operate, control, and make repairs to equipment as needed.
• Maintain process controls, collect samples, and perform analyses.
