Job summary

GHD in Questa, NM is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment and process systems at a large wastewater treatment facility. You will work with a safety‑conscious team on site to keep plant operations running smoothly.

The role requires at least three years in a similar maintenance position, ability to obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification, and experience with CMMS and SCADA systems.

Qualifications

• At least three years in a similar maintenance position at a production facility or public works.
• Ability to obtain 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle with a clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality guidelines.
• Experience with safety documentation and permits for high-risk work.
• Experience with SCADA control systems and electrical safety basics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment and process systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and implement repairs.
• Manage CMMS database with assistance from site manager.
• Coordinate maintenance subcontractors and inspectors.
• Read and interpret equipment drawings and datasheets.
• Monitor facilities for leaks and malfunctions; ensure safe isolation during repairs.
• Support operations during outages and process upsets.
