Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training in environmental science or related field preferred.
• Previous utilities/manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to obtain SC wastewater operator certification within employer/state timeframe.
• Basic reading and math skills; able to operate and read manuals.

Responsibilities

• Weekend shift: Friday, Saturday & Sunday 6am to 6pm; 36 hours paid as 40.
• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes and equipment.
• Observe gauges, meters, control panels, and SCADA to monitor plant performance.
• Collect wastewater samples and perform routine laboratory analyses.
• Record operational data and maintain logs and reports.
• Assist in adjusting pumps, valves, motors, blowers, and chemical feed systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on treatment equipment.
• Inspect treatment processes and collection system components for proper operation.
• Participate in preventive maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Clean plant equipment, buildings, tanks, and work areas.
• Assist with troubleshooting operational and mechanical issues.
• Respond to emergencies, alarms, and upsets as needed.
• Learn and follow state/federal environmental regulations; safety procedures.
