Qualifications

• 4-7 years' experience operating wastewater treatment plants.
• Possess and maintain a valid CT motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Thorough knowledge of computer operations and SCADA systems; ability to prepare documents and enter data.
• Operator certification at a level required by the State and City (Class III).
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment principles, equipment, and processes; supervision and training principles.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains the wastewater treatment plant’s facilities.
• Establishes and maintains sample procedures for plant operations and effluent.
• Diagnoses operating problems and directs corrective action during shift.
• Prepares required reports and maintains records.
• Assists in directing and training employees.
• Performs on-call or lead duties in absence of Lead Operator.
• Controles process adjustments by reading gauges and recording data.
