Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Wastewater Operator to control water flows and process equipment, ensuring proper operation of all wastewater systems. This role reports to the Plant Manager and supports maintenance and process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, wastewater certification or equivalent experience, and at least 1 year in rendering or production settings. Training to obtain certification is possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Waste Water certification or 3 years wastewater experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in rendering facility or production environment.
• Willing to obtain wastewater certificate.

Responsibilities

• Proper operation of the evaporator.
• Proper operation of plant skimmer.
• Chemical inventory and dosing throughout wastewater treatment processes.
• Perform wastewater tests as needed.
• Proper operation of DAF.
• Control flows throughout wastewater treatment processes.
• Daily clean foot valves and flow meters at pump stations.
• Monitor MBBRs.
• Service and lube pumps and gearboxes as needed.
• Assist maintenance with projects or area responsibilities.
• Monitor aerators and mixers.
• Proper operation of disinfection system.
• Proper operation of all scrubbers and ancillary equipment.
• Proper operation of cooling towers.
• Apply chemicals to sustain a minimum of a 24-hour period.
• Dump a container of grease solids using a forklift.
