Job summary

Initial training on a day shift followed by rotation to a swing/night shift. Wage details reflect two operator levels and a path for certification and advancement within the Wastewater Division.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in environmental science or related field.
• Operator 1 requires 1 year of wastewater or related experience; Operator 2 requires 2 years.
• Must pass background check.
• Must pass physical assessment and drug test.
• Licenses: Oregon DEQ Wastewater Operator Certification (Grade I for Op1; Grade II/III/IV preferred for Op2).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of equipment and monitor indicators for efficiency.
• Operate pumps, blowers, grit collection, clarifiers, digesters, and chemical feed systems.
• Calibrate and maintain instruments and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Collect samples and conduct process lab analyses for process control.
• Interpret lab data and adjust operations to meet targets.
• Rotate shifts as required and maintain safety procedures.
