Operate wastewater treatment plants within DNREC guidelines
DUTIES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate. Level IV State of Delaware Wastewater License or higher. Must possess valid driver’s license with good driving record and working knowledge of personal computers.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A variety of physical activities are required including, but not limited to, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, and lifting to gain access to meter pits, read meters, and lift bags of lime. Reading and writing are necessary to fill out daily pump log and read equipment settings. Visual acuity is required for reading equipment settings and driving truck. Requires the ability to learn related steps, processes, or elementary methods. Requires ability to plan a sequence of operations; to think and reason analytically in making decisions from complex alternatives to make water distribution decisions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
Job requires exposure to outside environmental conditions such as extreme heat and cold along with exposure to vibration, noise, fumes, odors, dusts, and gases. Sometimes requires use of a respirator or other breathing apparatus.
