Job summary

Pilgrims is seeking a dedicated Wastewater Operator to join our operations team. You will operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while prioritizing safety and public health.

The role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in varying conditions. Licensing progression is encouraged, with opportunities for growth and training across multiple treatment facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license in good standing; respirator use required; PIT and yard truck operation.
• Experience with SCADA systems and laboratory testing procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, pumps, valves, and control systems.
• Perform routine inspections of plant processes and equipment.
• Collect and analyze wastewater samples; record and interpret data to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Adjust chemical feeds, flows, and processes as needed.
• Maintain logs, reports, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues; perform minor repairs.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities.
• Follow all safety procedures and participate in training.
• Respond to emergency call-outs or after-hours situations.

• Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, pumps, valves, and control systems.
• Perform routine inspections of plant processes and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Collect and analyze wastewater samples; record and interpret data to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Adjust chemical feeds, flows, and processes as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation.

What You'll Need

• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred;
• Requirements: Valid Driver's License in good standing; Must be able to wear a respirator. Must be able to operate PIT and yard truck.

Licensing Requirements

• Team members working in a full-treatment wastewater facility are required to obtain the following license levels within the timeframes established by company policy:
• D License: Within 1 year of hire.
• C License: Within 3 years of hire.
• B License: Within 6 years of hire.
• A License: Optional and may be obtained at the team member's discretion.
• Experience: Knowledge of SCADA systems, pumps, motors and laboratory testing procedures
• Physical requirements: Ability to work in extreme Cold/Hot temperatures, ability to lift up to 50 pounds while standing, bending and working in tight spaces.
