Job summary

Upstate Niagara Cooperative, owner of the North Country Dairy facility, seeks an Associate Wastewater Technician to support the WWTS. You will assist in compliance with environmental laws, oversee daily operations, perform sampling, and help maintain records while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to operate in a union environment with shifts including overnight or afternoon hours.

Qualifications

• BS in Sciences, EHS, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in wastewater treatment, industrial, or manufacturing environment; or demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude.
• Basic laboratory skills preferred.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations a plus, not required at entry.

Responsibilities

• Support facility compliance with environmental laws (EPA, CWA, CAA, RCRA) under direction.
• Oversee daily WWTS operations and sampling.
• Maintain accurate records, lab results, and compliance documentation.
• Assist in coordinating maintenance with Engineering, Maintenance, and external providers.
• Participate in safety initiatives and daily huddles.
