Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plant equipment in our Kansas facility. This role emphasizes safety and adherence to Tyson policies while supporting production uptime.

The successful candidate will perform mechanical and electrical repairs, operate wastewater treatment processes, and fabricate or weld as needed, while reading schematics and following instructions.

• 1 year industrial maintenance experience and/or industrial maintenance education combined.

Leveling (pay) isdeterminedduring the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.

We are offering a $5000 sign on bonus for new hires. The bonus is paid out in $2500 following completion of 90 days and $2500 at completion of 180 days. *

*Rehires are not eligible for sign on bonus.

Role Overview:

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

In this role you will:

• Perform a wide range of mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on production and plant equipment.
• Perform single phase and 3 phase electrical trouble shooting and repairs on production and plant equipment.
• Perform operation and maintenance of wastewater collection system, or wastewater pre-treatment system.
• Perform fabrication and welding job duties as needed.
• Read and follow instructions and complete required paperwork.
• Wear necessary safety equipment.
• Read electrical schematics.
• Work with hazardous chemicals.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Communicate effectively to all levels of team member including mgt.

Knowledge of control voltage, pneumatics, hydraulics, and 3 phase wiring is helpful to perform repairs and maintenance on processing production lines and auxiliary equipment.

Wastewater experience preferred.

Physical Requirements**The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.**

• Must be able and willing to move from one area of production to another.
• Must be able and willing to lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
• Team Member will stand, stoop, bend, climb ladders, change work levels, twist, and squat, climb stairs, reach, push, pull and move about the facility or working in unsanitary conditions.
• Team Member will work in various temperatures ranging between 28 and 100 plus degrees.
• Team members are encouraged to dress appropriately before they arrive at their work area.

• 1 year industrial maintenance experience and/or industrial maintenance education combined.

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
