Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. seeks an Engineer I to support engineering system design under close supervision across multiple projects. You will perform design calculations, prepare specifications, reports, cost estimates and deliverable drawings.

You will assist engineers and designers, research design options, collect data, and help ensure code compliance through meetings and site observations. 0-1 year experience preferred; EIT or similar certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 0-1 year experience.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineers and Designers in the design and detail of engineering systems; write/edit specifications and research design options on devices and system selections.
• Apply prescribed techniques to perform assigned tasks and research findings.
• Collect data, perform basic computations and may prepare drawings and visuals.
• Participate in meetings to ensure code compliance and conduct site investigations as needed.
• May interact with staff, the public, officials, and contractors with limited client-facing responsibilities.
