Job summary

The City of Racine Wastewater Utility is seeking a skilled journeyman electrician to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems across treatment plants and lift stations. Applicants should have a Wisconsin Journeyman Electrician license and 2+ years of industrial experience, with a path to Supervising Electrician certification.

Responsibilities include wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with codes, while working in a safe, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman license issued by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Two years of progressive industrial electrical experience.
  • Ability to obtain Supervising Electrician Certification within 1 year or hold a Master License.
  • Proficiency with standard office software.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled industrial electrician duties in installation, repair and maintenance of wastewater systems and equipment.
  • Measure, cut, install electrical conduit and install wiring and control equipment.
  • Maintain and repair AC-DC components, motors, transformers, cranes, and power tools.
  • Wiring of switchboards, switchgears, transformers, meters, UPS, relays, PLCs.
  • Interpret drawings/diagrams and ensure compliance with specifications and local codes.
