Job summary

The City of Largo is seeking a Wastewater Collections Worker to perform a range of skilled and semi-skilled duties in the sanitary sewer system. You will operate trucks, backhoes, and other equipment under supervision and assist with installations, repairs, and data entry in the CMMS.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma/GED, a Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement, FWPCOA Wastewater Collections C Certification within two years, and CPR/First Aid training within six months.

An employee in this position is responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled to semi-skilled tasks and any other work in connection with the sanitary wastewater collection system. The job also requires frequent: bending/stooping, grasping, kneeling, and lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 15 pounds; occasional climbing of a ladder; fine manipulations, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion; lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 45 pounds, and on rare occasions lifting/carrying objects weighing more than 60 pounds.Sensory Requirements: Hearing: Ability to detect proper equipment operation, detect alarms, and understand what others say in normal conversation and on the telephone. Speaking: Ability to communicate orally with others and speak effectively on the phone.
