Job summary

Baker Commodities, Inc. seeks a wastewater operator to safely manage processes and laboratory analysis at our MA facilities. The role involves monitoring pre-treatment, running tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate records in a team-focused environment.

The ideal candidate holds a MA Wastewater License Grade 2 or higher, 1–2 years of related experience, and a high school diploma. Overtime and flexible shifts may be required; strong math, English communication, and basic mechanical

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Wastewater License Grade 2 or higher
• 1-2 years previous work-related experience preferred; on the job training provided
• High School Diploma or Equivalent; education in water/wastewater treatment and/or basic laboratory skills preferred
• Ability to work overtime and adjust shift start/end times when needed
• Math skills
• Ability to work alone or in small groups
• Must be self-motivated and able to decide when to do tasks based on training and experience
• Ability to diagnose problems and find solutions
• Basic Computer skills for analysis and data entry
• Ability to use English to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Basic mechanical and repair skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor wastewater pre-treatment with a dissolved air floatation system
• Perform various laboratory analysis
• Prepare samples for testing or analysis
• Perform regular maintenance of laboratory equipment by inspecting, calibrating, cleaning, or sterilizing
• Prepare monitoring analysis to maintain records at all times
• Monitor grease skimmer and water separator system
• Operate forklift
• Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
• Follow department and company procedures
• Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
• Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.
