Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, Virginia is seeking a Waste Water Treatment Mechanic to operate demineralized water systems and wastewater facilities. You will perform complex testing, input data, and troubleshoot to keep operations compliant with regulatory standards.

Required is a Virginia Class 3 (or higher) wastewater operator license within two years, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a DOE security clearance. Shift work, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Virginia Class 3 (or higher) wastewater operator license required within two years of hire.
• U.S. citizen and ability to obtain a DOE clearance.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Respirator protection required as necessary.
• Will work from ladders and elevated platforms.

Responsibilities

• Operate demineralized water systems and wastewater facilities.
• Maintain system documentation and accuracy.
• Perform complex wastewater testing, input data, and troubleshoot to maintain compliance.
• Assist licensed operators to meet Virginia Pollution Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) permit requirements.
• Shift work, weekends and holidays as assigned.
