Job summary

Celanese in Virginia is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to run and monitor plant equipment, perform routine rounds, and ensure wastewater is treated to regulatory standards; you will troubleshoot equipment and coordinate with maintenance when needed.

Day-to-day duties include testing and sampling, reporting results, issuing work notifications and permits, identifying and reporting issues, managing energy-control of equipment, and supporting safety and environmental compliance while

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid Virginia Wastewater Operators license (Class 1–4) or an equivalent license from another state.
• Willing and able to convert licenses from another state to a Virginia license at first opportunity.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and climbing.

Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess a current, valid Class 1, 2, 3, or 4 Virginia state Wastewater Operators license, or a current, valid license from another state with equivalent waste treatment experience.
• Must be willing and able to convert licenses from another state to a Virginia license at first available opportunity.
• Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, as well as overtime as needed.
• Must be able to perform physical aspects of the role including walking, standing, climbing, etc.
