Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering seeks a Waste Treatment Systems Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience providing technical and management support in a chemical or nuclear industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare technical documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
• Experience working with operations, maintenance, engineering, and client personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for waste treatment operations and related activities at Y-12.
• Support maintenance, installation, repair, and performance evaluation of treatment equipment.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance personnel to manage treatment processes.
• Evaluate technical issues and implement corrective actions relevant to equipment, systems, and process performance.
• Provide technical and management support to project leadership and client representatives.
• Prepare, review, and support technical documentation and process-related reports.
• Promote a strong safety culture aligning with quality, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, maintenance, project management, and client representatives.
