Job summary

HDR's Solid Waste program in Charlotte, NC seeks a Solid Waste EIT or Designer to support planning, design, and construction efforts from our office. The role involves site studies, layout, drainage, and documentation under senior engineers.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering, strong communication skills, and a willingness to pursue the EIT certification. Local candidates with CAD/GIS experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Engineers with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
• Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
• Perform other duties as needed

HDR’s Waste program is looking for a Solid Waste EIT or Designer to join the team and help support a dynamic workload of planning, design, and construction projects.The right candidate will have a strong interest in how waste is generated, reduced, reused, recycled, recovered and ultimately managed through collection, transfer, processing, and disposal facilities. This position is based in our Charlotte, North Carolina office.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist Senior Engineers with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation

• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
• Hazwoper 40 hour training
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and GIS experience
• Local candidates
