Arcwood Environmental, LLC is seeking a Waste Scheduler to manage waste pickup scheduling requests nationwide, coordinating with Sales, Operations and Logistics to ensure timely service. Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant customer experience, project management or office experience (required)
  • Previous experience within environmental waste or a related technical area (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

Responsibilities

  • Receive and coordinate waste pickup scheduling requests and calls from customers and Arcwood personnel nationwide
  • Coordinate scheduling with Sales, Operations and Logistics to ensure timely service
  • Enter scheduling orders into the MMS system accurately and promptly
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email to confirm pickup dates and arrangements
  • Support customer experience by proactively scheduling pickups and flagging missing routine requests
  • Assist in prioritizing pickups when transportation capacity is limited
  • Resolve issues related to transportation, scheduling and logistics
  • Maintain knowledge of MMS system and adapt to changing processes

Job description

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Waste Scheduler As a Waste Scheduler you will receive and coordinate waste pickup scheduling requests and calls from customers, Customer Experience team members, and Arcwood personnel nationwide. You will serve as a key liaison between Sales, Operations, and Logistics teams to ensure efficient coordination and timely service and facilitate clear communication across departments to address scheduling needs and support seamless waste collection operations.



  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times

  • Follows all processes and standards implemented by the Customer Experience excellence team

  • Coordinates incoming truckloads based on plant processing capacity, transportation availability, and customer requirements

  • Schedules and coordinates shipments of waste to Arcwood facilities and other third-party disposal facilities

  • Accurately and efficiently enters scheduling orders into the computer system to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner

  • Supports Customer Experience team with proactive scheduling of customer pickups and notifies them when anticipated routine pickup requests have not been received

  • Coordinates incoming shipments with Operations personnel to ensure plant processing capacity is maintained and not exceeded

  • Serves as a key liaison between Commercial and Logistics to meet customer requirements and assists in prioritizing pickups when transportation capacity is limited

  • Confirms transportation pickup dates and arrangements directly with customers via phone and email

  • Reviews waste processing product codes to determine when specialized transportation equipment, such as acid tankers, or specific processing capabilities are required; communicates these requirements to the appropriate Arcwood personnel

  • Troubleshoots and resolves customer issues related to transportation, scheduling, and logistics

  • Reviews pending transactions and orders daily and collaborates with Customer Experience to resolve outstanding issues

  • Ensures COD and Credit Watch customers are scheduled appropriately in accordance with established procedures

  • Manages slot cancellations while ensuring slot cancellation fees are billed accordingly

  • Coordinates and provides solutions for customers and Commercial when plants have capacity constraints

  • Maintains extensive knowledge and proficiency of the MMS system

  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education


  • - High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • - Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field (preferred)


Experience
