Job summary

The University of Georgia in Athens seeks a WRS-Driver 2 to support waste reduction services. You will operate CDL-class vehicles, transport solid waste, recyclables, and organics, and perform routine vehicle inspections.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires safety focus, weekend or overtime hours for events, and driving responsibilities with CDL Class B or higher. A high school diploma and 2 years related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class B or higher.
• Knowledge and understanding of CDL vehicles in the Waste Reduction Services Fleet.
• Good safety record and knowledge of hazards in equipment operation.
• Prior related truck driving work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine waste management collections to transport landfill, recyclables, and organics.
• Perform routine vehicle and infrastructure inspections and maintenance.
• Seasonal support for events and activities such as sporting events and housing moves.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
