Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a facilities/grounds maintenance associate to support our operations in Ohio. You will maintain grounds, operate tools, and assist with waste carts while upholding safety standards and customer service.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and minimal supervision.
• Good written and verbal communication with customers and team.
• Must read and speak English well to follow directions and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility grounds-keeping including mowing, trimming, and cleaning.
• Operate various hand-held tools and equipment.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment per policy and OSHA.
• Assist with organization and distribution of waste carts and bins.
• Transport, load, and unload containers and bins safely.
• Serve as a helper on route as needed.
• General housekeeping of maintenance shops and offices.
• Perform minor repairs and upkeep of facilities.
• Clean, prepare, and paint containers.
• Install erosion control measures (silt fence, straw bales).
• Interact professionally with customers internally and externally.
• Pressure-wash and repair waste carts, bins, and portable rest rooms as needed.
