Job summary

A&C Waste Collection seeks a safety‑minded truck operator to lead daily crews on commercial refuse and recycling routes. You will inspect vehicles, collect waste, and ensure timely disposal while coordinating with leadership on route changes.

Requirements include six months of driving experience and a Nevada Class B CDL (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of residency). Outdoor work, varied conditions, and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of truck operators daily to ensure smooth, efficient waste collection.
• Inspect collection vehicle for proper mechanical functioning.
• Collect garbage, recyclables, brush and other materials on routes and transport to disposal site.
• Comply with local rules and regulations.
• Operate unloading mechanism and packer-type collection vehicle.
• Maintain daily activity reports and clean the vehicle at day end.
• Consult with Owner on route changes and safety conditions.

Job description

Under general supervision, is responsible for the operation of a commercial refuse and/or recycling collection vehicle on assigned routes.Transports collected garbage, recyclables, brush, and other materials to appropriate City disposal sites. May exercise functional supervision over assigned crew.

Essential Job Functions

• This job position requires a self motivated employee who is capable of leading a team of truck operators daily to insure a smooth and efficient waste collection service.


• Inspects collection vehicle for proper mechanical functioning.


• Collects garbage, recyclables, brush, and other materials on assigned routes and transports to appropriate disposal site.


• Complies with local rules and regulations.


• Operates mechanism for unloading truck.


• Operates a packer type collection vehicle.


• Operates all equipment attached to trucks such as compactor, drums, and hopper.


• Completes a daily activity report.


• Cleans truck at the end of each work day.


• Consults with Owner daily on any route changes, hazardous driving conditions, customer satisfaction and/or dissatisfaction.


• May pick up, carry, and empty refuse into appropriate vehicle.


• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

• Ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.


• Six (6) months of truck driving experience.


• This position requires a valid Nevada Class \"B\" CommercialDriver's LicenseOR valid Class \"B\" Commercial Driver's License from another state with the ability to obtain a valid Nevada Class \"B\" Commercial Driver's License within 30 days of becoming a Nevada resident.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Physical requirements include lifting/carrying 60 pounds; visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a commercial vehicle. Subject to walking, sitting, standing, reaching, and twisting to perform the essential functions.Working conditions are primarily outside with frequent exposure to temperature extremes, dust; damp/wet surfaces, and high noise level.
