Swananorcal in Sacramento, California is seeking a qualified individual to manage and coordinate solid waste and recycling programs. The ideal candidate will oversee operations related to waste management including program development and inter-agency relations.
A Bachelor's degree and two years of supervision in waste management are required. This position plays a crucial role in environmental protection and waste program administration.
Under general direction, directs, manages, supervises, and coordinates the activities and operations of solid waste and recycling programs including program development, contract development and negotiations, planning, education and outreach, commercial collection regulation, safety, resource recovery, reduction, and diversion; procurement of waste management services; waste program and facility development; inter‑jurisdictional relations; contract administration; grant administration; and environmental protection of disposal and/or other waste facilities; and coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies, and the general public.
Note: Additional full‑time paid experience planning, developing, or implementing waste management and/or recycling/resource recovery programs may substitute for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis. (2080 hours is equal to 30 units)
