Job summary
GFL Environmental Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our refuse truck fleet. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and major repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and braking systems to ensure safe operations.
The role requires at least 1 year of diesel technician experience, own basic tools, and a valid driver's license. Expect 7am–5pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours and benefits after a short eligibility
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of diesel technician experience.
- Own a personal set of basic mechanics tools.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air brake systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues using diagnostic software and tools.
- Repair and maintain waste equipment components (compressors, hydraulic cylinders, automated arms, lift systems).
- Conduct safety inspections to ensure DOT and company standards compliance.
- Maintain accurate work orders and fleet maintenance records.
- Uphold a clean, safe work environment and follow OSHA and DOT safety protocols.
