Job description

This position is responsible for operating a refuse collection truck or other solid waste equipment, including performing maintenance, pre-operation, and post-operation checks. The role supervises inmates involved in the collection process, ensuring safety compliance and discipline.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate refuse collection trucks and secondary equipment such as grab alls and booms for refuse pickup and disposal.
  • Supervise inmates, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and discipline for rule infractions.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist other drivers with routes as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries, record complaints, and inform relevant personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
