The County of Culpeper is looking for a skilled worker to facilitate the daily operations of the solid waste drop-off convenience center and perform related duties as required.

Responsibilities include managing customer inquiries, directing traffic, maintaining operational records, monitoring dumpster use, and supervising Community Diversification workers. Weekend work and a Virginia driver’s license are required; CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a high school diploma.
• Experience with data entry and retrieval preferred, not required.
• Criminal history background check required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver’s license; CDL license preferred.
• Must work some weekends.

Responsabilités

• Meets all incoming customers
• Performs spot checks on incoming loads and ensures materials are acceptable
• Directs customers with overloaded vehicles to the transfer station
• Coordinates traffic flow between the convenience center and the transfer station
• Answers questions from users and the general public
• Prepares and maintains a variety of records pertaining to daily operations, such as number of vehicles entering landfill, use of dumpsters and recycling containers, etc.
• Monitors use of the dumpster outside the landfill gate, and ensures dumpsters are only used for household trash
• Pull and empty dumpsters when full
• Supervises Community Diversification workers
