POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Washroom Operator is responsible for ensuring that cleaning tasks in the manufacturing and packaging washroom areas are performed properly, with complete and accurate record-keeping.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in general manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, nutraceutical/pharmaceutical manufacturing, or related fields.
- Previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and lift heavy objects if required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Adherence to safety guidelines and protocols.
- Dependable attendance and flexibility to accommodate non-standard work hours.
- Ability to manage job-related stress and maintain productive workplace interactions.
- Working knowledge of cGMPs is preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare 3-compartment sinks with cleaning and sanitizing agents.
- Restock washroom supplies such as hand soap, hand sanitizer (if applicable), and maintain cleaning solution dispensers with products like Alconox and Simple Green.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of manufacturing and packaging washrooms.
- Apply knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain hygiene standards.
- Use appropriate chemicals and equipment to clean, sanitize, and disinfect, ensuring compliance with cGMP guidelines. Perform monthly cleaning of washroom walls and vents.
- Clean and sanitize process drums and/or Bulk Bags (Super Sacks).
- Tag process drums and/or Bulk Bags with status tags and record cleaning information in logs.
- Store cleaned process drums and/or Bulk Bags appropriately.
- Follow established safety procedures, SOPs, cGMP, and food safety regulations.
- Remove garbage daily to prevent odors, pests, and contamination.
- Other duties as assigned by the manufacturing supervisor.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for 8-10 hours daily with flexibility for overtime, holidays, weekends, and short-notice shifts.
- Work longer hours as needed to meet deadlines.
- Work day or night shifts and accommodate shift changes.
