Washington Community School District is seeking a Washington Middle School Paraprofessional (Instructional) for the 2026-2027 school year in Washington, Iowa. The role supports teachers, assists in classrooms and community settings, and helps maintain a safe, organized learning environment.

• Supervise students in community/work settings.
• Lift, carry, and correctly position students with physical disabilities.
• Perform other activities as required by building Principal or teachers.

REPORTS TO: Building principal

JOB GOALS: Assist teachers in the instruction and work/community settings in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Any or all of the following duties may apply to a specific paraeducator position, depending on the needs of the student and the operation of the educational setting.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary to be set at offer of employment, and calendar year to be evaluated in accordance with the Washington School District school year calendar.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District's policy on Evaluation and State Statute.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt
