Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead and manage construction projects in the Washington, DC area.

You will oversee scheduling, budgeting, safety, and coordination with owners, contractors, and design professionals to deliver complex facilities on time. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in construction, expertise in CPM scheduling, and experience with management systems. Travel may be required; a strong focus on safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with 10+ years in construction.
At least seven years in the construction industry.
At least two years' experience managing construction projects as a Superintendent or Project Foreman.
Experience with scheduling, job cost reports, estimating, safety, documentation requirements, and quality control.
Proficiency in the Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling method.
Must have a history of completing projects under the estimated hours.
Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours.
Willingness to work a schedule that may include nights and weekends.
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain an environment of ethical and motivated behavior.
Motivate and lead teams and team members.
Deliver a safe, quality project on time within budget for owners.
Develop the estimate and integrated project plan with the project team.
Understand the contract, scope, specs, drawings, and plan.
Manage site logistics with the Logistics Service Center.
Coordinate procurements and material releases with the Procurement Service Center.
Collaborate with management, owners, contractors, and designers to resolve issues.
Explain plans and contract terms to staff, workers, and clients.
Plan, organize, and direct daily activities per the plan.
Dispatch workers to sites and monitor progress.
Direct and supervise foremen and electricians.
Inspect and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
Coordinate with other contractors.
Ensure safe installations with Safety/Quality Centers.
Monitor progress daily/weekly against the plan.
Maintain positive cash flow and profitability.
Mentor technicians for promotions.
Conduct performance appraisals with foremen and electricians.
