Job summary

NewsNation in Washington, DC is seeking a bureau producer to coordinate daily coverage of the federal government, including the White House and Congress, and general regional news. You will partner with network correspondents to provide cross-platform coverage and coordinate field shoots, interviews, and live shots.

The role requires 1–2 years of production experience, strong reporting and writing, and flexibility to work overtime and travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications/Journalism or related field.
• 1–2 years broadcast or digital production experience.
• Experience in reporting, research and writing.
• Willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends with short notice.
• Willing to work in Washington, DC with domestic and international travel as needed.
• Understand social media and social newsgathering.
• Team player, cooperative with all network personnel.
• Operate newsroom computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily coverage of the federal government, including the White House and Congress.
• Partner with network correspondents to provide cross-platform coverage.
• Produce and craft segments, live hits, and packages with well-written scripts.
• Organize field shoots, interviews, and logistics for the field team.
• Gather elements from affiliates, agencies, and social media.
• Communicate needs and expectations between field, show, and assignment desk.
• Build live hits and packages for broadcast and digital platforms.
