Laborer – Wet Utilities

Location: Washington, DC

Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Laborer to support our wet utility construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist with the installation of stormwater, sanitary sewer, and water lines, and perform general labor tasks on-site. This role requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with trenching, grading, and pipe installation.
  • Load and unload materials and tools at the job site.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety protocols and participate in daily safety meetings.
  • Operate hand tools and small equipment as needed.
  • Support crew members with various tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues to the Foreman immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in construction or utility work preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks that require standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Visual acuity for identifying hazards and performing tasks safely.
