Job summary

WASH Multifamily Laundry Systems in Chicago is seeking a Service Technician to perform mechanical repairs on washers and dryers at customer locations within the assigned region. You will diagnose, disassemble, reassemble, and repair machines to keep them running and meet customer expectations.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, at least 2 years of mechanical experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Service washers and dryers at apartments, laundromats, hotels, and other locations.
  • Disassemble machines and examine mechanical and electrical parts.
  • Reassemble appliances, adjust pulleys, and lubricate moving parts.
  • Replace worn or defective parts and adjust motors.
  • Clean and wash parts and report needed replacements.
  • Coordinate with dispatch on equipment replacements when necessary.
  • Drive a company vehicle to and from work locations.

Our Service Technicians provide mechanical repairs to washers and dryers at customer locations within their assigned region. Service Technicians keep our machines running smoothly to meet customer expectations or the need for repeated service needs. Estimated Salary

Estimated Salary: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Service washers and dryers at apartments, laundromats, hotels, athletic facilities, etc.
  • Disassemble machines and examine mechanical and electrical parts
  • Reassemble appliances, adjusts pulleys, and lubricate moving parts
  • Replace worn or defective parts and adjusts motors
  • Clean and wash parts
  • Advise dispatch department of equipment that should be replaced with new equipment
  • Drive a company vehicle to and from work locations
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Good driving record
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess effective English communication skills (oral and written); bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish) are desirable
  • At least 2 years of mechanical experience and electrical knowledge and/or training
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally move 200 pounds or more with a dolly/hand truck
  • Prior washer/dryer repair experience is desirable
