Job summary

Valeo North America seeks a highly motivated Warranty / Process Co-Op for Summer 2027 at our Hamilton, OH manufacturing facility. You will support quality engineering activities across Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams to drive product quality and continuous improvement.

Gain hands-on experience with quality tools (FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, MSA, 8D) and collaborate on defect reduction, process optimization, and data-driven decision making within a global automotive

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong academic performance with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to collaborate in a team.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently with guidance.
• Interest in automotive manufacturing, QA, and process improvement.
• Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing or engineering preferred.
• Available to work full-time during the Summer 2027 Co-op semester.

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D methodologies.
• Support product and process validation through testing, data collection, and analysis.
• Collect, analyze, and report quality performance data to identify trends and improvements.
• Assist with supplier quality activities including performance monitoring, audits, and corrective action follow-up.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production and cross-functional teams to improve process capability.
• Participate in CI projects focused on defect reduction and operational excellence.
• Support preparation of quality reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
• Learn and apply automotive quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, MSA, and 8D.

This role will provide hands‑on experience supporting quality engineering activities within an automotive manufacturing environment. The Co-Op student will work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and Supplier teams to support product quality, process performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures.

• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to internal, supplier, and customer quality issues using problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D.

• Support new product and process validation activities through testing, data collection, and analysis.

• Collect, analyze, and report quality performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

• Assist with supplier quality activities, including supplier performance monitoring, audits, and corrective action follow‑up.

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and cross‑functional teams to improve process capability and product quality.

• Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on defect reduction, process optimization, and operational excellence.

• Support the preparation of quality reports, presentations, and technical documentation.

• Learn and apply automotive quality tools and methodologies, including FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, MSA, and 8D.

Job Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar).

• Strong academic performance with demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with guidance from experienced engineers.

• Demonstrated interest in automotive manufacturing, quality assurance, and process improvement.

• Previous internship, co‑op, or project experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.

• Must be available to work full‑time during the Summer 2027 Co‑Op semester.
