Sturges Manufacturing Co., Inc. seeks a Warper for the Night Shift in Utica, NY. The role offers a regular full-time schedule Sunday–Thursday, 8:00 PM–6:00 AM, with a base rate of $18/hour plus a $2/hour night differential and a 4-day workweek.

You will operate and maintain warpers and creels, document production data, and ensure safety and quality in daily tasks. English fluency and basic math/computer skills are required.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Basic mechanical repair knowledge is required.
• Ability to interpret draw sheets and use measuring devices.
• Must distinguish colors and possess basic computer proficiency.
• Basic math skills and fluent English communication are required.

Responsabilidades

• Ensures warpers/creels produce consistent quality warps for weaving.
• Ensures proper setup and monitoring of warpers/creels during operation.
• Performs basic maintenance to maximize output and minimize downtime.
• Handles transport, installation, and storage of warps/beams to/from warpers.
• Accurately logs job data into the company system.
• Follows safety rules and keeps a clean work area.
• Adheres to HR, safety, and quality policies.

Sunday–Thursday, 8:00 PM–6:00 AM

Base rate of pay + $2/hour night shift differential

Consistent 4-day workweek

What You'll Do:

• Ensures assigned warpers/creels produce consistent quality warps for the weaving process.
• Ensures assigned warpers/creels are properly set up and monitored while running.
• Performs basic warper/creel maintenance and preventative maintenance to maximize output while minimizing down time.
• Transportation, installation, removal, and storage of warps/beams to/from warpers.
• Knowledgeable in operation of all warpers, even those not normally assigned to.
• Accurately enter job specific information into Sturges integrated computer system.
• Unloads and stores yarn delivered by trucking companies.
• Follow all safety rules and maintains a neat and clean work area.
• All Team Members of Sturges shall know and understand all safety, human resource, and quality policies, including the procedures, work instructions applicable to their position, and how their goals relate to the success of the company.

Education & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Basic mechanical repair knowledge.
• Ability to interpret draw sheets.
• Knowledge of use of all applicable measuring devices.
• Must be able to distinguish between colors.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Basic math skills.Strong team player.
• This position is deemed a safety sensitive position always requiring alertness.
• Able to read, write and fluently communicate in English.
