Job summary

Milliken & Company in Cheraw, SC, Highland Plant, is seeking a Yarn Loader to support 24-hour production. Primary duties include loading creels with yarn, picking up empty tubes and replacing used pirns, while ensuring correct yarn lots are used.

You will be entering data into the computer system, working 10-hour shifts, and may require overtime on weekends. The role emphasizes safety, housekeeping, and collaboration with technicians and supervisors to keep yarn machinery running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent vision (Vision Check with Nurse is required).
• Must be computer literate and be able to enter data into system.
• Must be able to work 10-hour shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load yarn on yarn carts and push loaded carts to the looms.
• Replace empty pirns with full pirns of yarn.
• Responsible for using correct yarn lot numbers.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work from heights.
• Must be able to obtain POV/Lift License.
• Must be able lift 50 lbs.
• Inform the Technician or Supervisor of yarn or machine related problems.
• Will perform any other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Job Summary:

Primary responsibility is to load the creels with packages of yarn (enough to maintain production runs for 24 hours), pick up the empty tubes, and bad or damaged yarn. Must be able to doff machines and enter information into computer system. This position is located at the Highland Plant in Cheraw, SC. The work hours are 7am - 5pm.

Must Have Job Requirements

• Must have excellent vision (Vision Check with Nurse is required)
• Must be computer literate and be able to enter data into system.
• Must be able to work 10-hour shifts
• Work be able to work overtime that includes weekends, as necessary due to customer orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must work safely, report unsafe conditions immediately and attend all required safety training and meetings.
• Responsible for good Housekeeping.
• Load yarn on yarn carts and push loaded carts to the looms.
• Replace empty pirns with full pirns of yarn.
• Responsible for using correct yarn lot numbers.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work from heights
• Must be able to obtain POV/Lift License
• Must be able lift 50 lbs
• Bands empty cardboard cases, and accumulates box separators, and empty pirns.
• Inform the Technician or Supervisor of yarn or machine related problems.
• Will perform any other duties as directed by Supervisor.
